BRIEF PROFILE
Professor Anang Zaini Gani was born in Malang, Indonesia on 24th August 1939.
He obtained a Bachelor Degree of Mechanical Engineering (Production Engineering major) from Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) in 1963. Subsequently, he pursued a Master Degree program to Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, USA until finally obtained his Master of Science in Industrial Engineering (MSIE) in 1965. After few years working as a lecturer at Industrial Engineering ITB, he then continued to the Doctoral program at Universita' degli Studi, Padova, Italy. He achieved the title of Doctor in Organization Aziendale (DOA) in 1972.
He had served as a lecturer at Institut Teknologi Bandung from 1963 to 2005. He earned his Professor of Industrial Engineering title from ITB in 1990. Throughout his career at ITB, Professor Anang had held a number of strategic positions such as:
After retiring from ITB, Professor Anang held the position as Professor of Industrial Engineering at Institut Teknologi Telkom, Bandung from 2007 - 2010. Afterwards, since 2012, he taught at Universitas Widyatama, Bandung. Besides the aforementioned institutions, he also served as lecturer at SESKO ABRI, SESKO AD, SESKAU, SESPIMPOL, Akademi Teknik Angkatan Darat, SUSPIM Telkom, Universitas Brawijaya (Unibraw), Institut Teknologi Telkom (ITT Telkom), Universitas Islam Bandung (Unisba) dan Institut Teknologi Tekstil.
Throughout his career, Professor Anang has been involved as the member of a number of prestigious profession organization namely:
Aside from his academic activities, Professor Anang also gives consulting service, training and workshop to various organizations, private companies as well as government institutions and ministries. In terms of business, he also become the founder of several companies such as LETMI ITB, PT. Kutami Management Technology and PT Amarta Zwara Guna.
As academician, obviously Professor Anang doesn't forget his primary duty beside teaching: conducting research and field development. His main research areas are Operations research, Industrial System, Facilities Design, Policy Study, Business Simulation, and Business Process. Since 1966, he has been developing a new theory namely Interaction Theory in order to solve Optimization Problem (Traveling Salesman Problem/TSP, Transportation Problem, Assignment Problem, Clustering, Logistic and Layout).
